The Commonwealth mace will be the main attraction at an exhibition organised by Sterling Jewellers at the Valletta Waterfront between November 17 and 27.
The mace is used in the presence of the sovereign or an immediate member of the Royal Family representing the Head of the Commonwealth and will be in Malta to coincide with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting taking place later this month.
Throughout the 10 days of the exhibition, visitors to Valletta Waterfront will not only be able to view the mace but also a whole array of impressive items displayed by Sterling Jewellers, said Chris Falzon, CEO at VISET plc, operators of Valletta Waterfront.
The Commonwealth mace is made of 18 carat gold with an oval Cabochon Ruby at its head. It is adorned with the flags of each Commonwealth member state.
It will be displayed together with a collection of fashionable jewellery, timepieces, gems, semi-precious stones and diamonds. Visitors to the exhibition will also have the chance to win a diamond Trilogy ring.
Entrance to the exhibition is free. It will open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
