Following a sluggish September performance, Hyundai Motor Co. recovered growth momentum as sales surged at both home and overseas markets.
With a new labour agreement in place and the summer holiday season over, Hyundai saw total sales of 232,570 units worldwide in October, equivalent to a 10 per cent increase over October 2004. Cumulative sales reached 2,028,120 units in the first ten months of this year, up 10.9 per cent over the same period last year.
Established in 1967, Hyundai Motor Co. has grown into an automotive group, which includes Hyundai Mobis and over 24 auto-related subsidiaries and affiliates.
Employing over 68,000 people worldwide, Hyundai Motor posted US$26.1 billion in sales in 2004 (on a non-consolidated basis).
Hyundai motor vehicles are sold in 193 countries through some 5,000 dealerships and showrooms. Hyundai Motor Co. is a sponsor of the 2006 FIFA Germany World Cup.
