About 1,000 students will have the opportunity to learn all about Valletta's rich cultural heritage this week, while at the same time help raise money for children with disabilities.
The Equal Partners Foundation, in collaboration with all the schools in Malta and Gozo, is organising a Valletta Week that kicks off tomorrow, as part of the Partners in Culture initiative.
"The aim behind this initiative is to raise funds to support the programmes of children with disabilities who are receiving support services through the foundation, while at the same time returning something interest and value to the students who are contributing to our mission," foundation president Colin Galea said.
Valletta Week, which will be officially inaugurated tomorrow by Nationalist MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, will provide students in Years 5 and 6 the opportunity to visit four sites including: The Malta Experience, The Knights Hospitallers, the National War Museum, and Fort St Elmo.
Besides teachers and facilitators, there will be a number of volunteers and people from St John's Ambulance who will be accompanying the schoolchildren.
Foundation executive manager Anabel Mifsud thanked all those who had been instrumental in the setting up of this fundraising activity.
