The Institute of Health & Safety (IHS) is currently undertaking a major review of its operations to expand and improve its range and quality of services.
The long-established, well-respected institute aims to become the premier provider of health and safety training and consultancy services in Malta, delivering them to the home and foreign markets.
Independent British consultant Chris Hudson has been engaged to lead the review. Of Maltese descent, he has experience of the local health and safety scene as well as international knowledge.
He is senior lecturer at the University of Portsmouth and a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. His specialisation is in management and law, and he is a serving Magistrate in the UK.
Mr Hudson is proving to be pivotal in bringing about the desired strategic changes, helping to maintain stability in the services provided for clients, while making the necessary changes in direction and culture within the organisation.
IHS currently operates in several countries, including North Africa where it serves clients mainly in the oil and gas industry. The review is being carefully monitored by management so that the benefits gained may be used to maximise the opportunities in these countries as well as in Malta.
