Trelleborg Group marks centenary

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Malta marked the Swedish multinational's centenary on October 28 with celebrations at designated times throughout the day so that all employees could join in.

Trelleborg Group (www.trelleborg.com) was founded in 1905 by a young entrepreneur named Henry Dunker.

The group grew rapidly and is today a globally active industrial group with over 130 manufacturing sites worldwide.

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Malta managing director Martin Hignett said the Malta plant shares the same core foundations as its parent company - it is a polymer specialist with over 40 years of experience in producing premium quality elastomeric 'O' rings. The Malta company produces and sells over one billion 'O' rings a year to a global customer base.

The leading global supplier of high-quality precision seals for industrial applications; the business area boasts annual sales of approximately 5,000 million Swedish krona and some 5,700 employees. It has a head office in Stuttgart and production units in Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, India, Italy, Japan, Malta, Mexico, Poland, Sweden, the UK and the US.

Operations are based on spearhead competence within polymer materials and a high level of industrial know-how, combined with functional solutions and systems designed to meet different specifications.

The Trelleborg Group has annual sales of approximately 23 billion Swedish krona, with about 22,000 employees in 40 countries. Trelleborg consists of Trelleborg Automotive, Trelleborg Wheel Systems, Trelleborg Engineered Systems, Trelleborg Building Systems and Trelleborg Sealing Solutions.

The Trelleborg share has been quoted on the A list of Stockholmsbörsen since 1964.
