CSGF property index income fund

HSBC Bank International has launched five new capital secured growth funds (CSGF) designed to offer capital protection with growth potential.

The five new funds offer a diverse selection of investment opportunities linked to the economies of the UK, Hong Kong, Japan and Europe, as well as a fund linked to the Euro Zone property market.

Investors can choose between three-year and five-year funds, which offer growth or a combination of income and growth. The minimum investment required is only US$/E/GB£5,000.

Charles Azzopardi, managing director of HSBC Investment Services (Malta) Ltd, said: "In these current times of economic uncertainty, capital secured funds are an important part of any investor's portfolio.

"One of our new funds, the Japan Market Movement Fund, offers the added feature of a positive return, even if the market falls, and we believe this will be an attractive feature for our investors.

"We are also offering our customers the opportunity to diversify their portfolio into a secure fund linked to the Euro Zone property market, via the Property Index Income Fund, serving as an alternative to our other equity linked investments.

"No doubt, property is a popular asset class that should be considered within any well-balanced investment portfolio. Investing directly in property carries with it a high capital outlay, diverse risks and costs.

"The Property Index Income Fund on the other hand permits investors to gain exposure to property markets at a low minimum entry level, offering a first year income of 6% on the capital and an attractive potential for growth, with the built-in benefit of security."

The offer is available up to December 12, but customers who invest up to November 14 will benefit from free shares that range from 0.15 per cent to 0.33 per cent, depending on the currency of issue. This new issue is a limited offer and may close early if oversubscribed.
