Marsa held the Forty Club to a tied series with two wins apiece last week. On Wednesday, they won the toss and elected to field. With consistent batting performances by the visitors' batsmen they managed a total of 221 runs from the 40 overs allocated.
Andy Meads top-scored with 48 runs, S. Coltman had 25 and Graham Corke 38. For Marsa, Nowell Khosla took three wickets.
In reply, Marsa could only manage 172 runs with John Grima hitting 56. For Forty Club, Andy Shanks and M. Wicks both took three wickets each. Forty Club took a 2-1 lead in the series.
Before, they also beat Worcestershire 50s in a two-game series 2-0.
On Saturday, Forty Club won the toss and elected to bat. They totalled an impressive 232 runs from the 45 overs allotted.
Meads, again, was in the runs, scoring 60. Barry Peay also batted well, scoring 74 runs.
For Marsa, three bowlers took two wickets each - Nowell Khosla, Alan Swift and Desmond Don Paul.
They looked determined to even the series as Khosla scored his first century, a 105 not out including 11 4s.
Angelo Spiteri made a welcome return and chalked up 68 runs as Marsa stormed home to win the game in the 36th over. Marsa saved the series.
On Sunday, Marsa took on Worcestershire 50s who batted first and were bowled out for 193 runs in the 39th over. D. Ebbage top-scored with 46 and Gordon Hewitt took four wickets for the home side.
Marsa were cruising to another victory with opening batsman Mike Smith (55) and Mark G. Sacco (27) leading the way. But G. Thorne had other ideas. He smashed four wickets and left Marsa helpless.
Only Jim Towers showed some resistance with a 27. Marsa eventually lost by 27 runs.
Marsa now play the last of their touring teams, Brasted & Sundridge CC, tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.
