The Institute of Directors (IoD), with the support of the FOI and the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), is organising a half-day seminar entitled "Force for Change - Corporate Governance" on Thursday at 8.30 a.m. at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard.
The event will provide companies and stakeholders with an excellent opportunity to discuss issues like the need or otherwise for the introduction of mandatory governance provisions for listed companies and the position of non-listed and public interest companies.
The keynote speaker will be Patricia Peter, head of IoD Corporate Governance Policy Unit of the UK. MFSA officials will be providing an insight into the work being done on the revision of the existing Code of Principles on Corporate Governance in line with current international trends. There will also be a panel discussion made up of Malta`s leading legal and financial experts.
Listed companies, company secretaries, and investors on the Stock Exchange are encouraged to attend and give feedback to the MFSA's Revised Draft Principles on Corporate Governance. The seminar is also of interest to accountants, legal advisers, local business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Delegates will be given a complimentary copy of Corporate Govern-ance - practical advice for Directors on today's most important boardroom issue, published by IoD London.
A participation fee of Lm15 (including VAT) is being charged and advanced booking is recommended.
