Alistair And Melanie, former national Latin American champions (below), recently went to England where another dream in their career as dancers has come true.
A year ago the couple decided to end their successful amateur competition career and their ambition was to dedicate their time not only to dancing but also to sharing their knowledge and experience of Latin American and Ballroom Dancing through teaching.
Alistair and Melanie have achieved their goal and got excellent results in their BATD examinations in both Ballroom and Latin American. Their foreign examiner was delighted by the high standard reached by the couple and remarked that they will make excellent teachers.
This year Alistair and Melanie also proved their expertise as choreographers during the Malta Song for Europe when they choreographed and danced with J. Anvil who placed third with the song You. They were also the choreographers of the winning song of the Ghanja tal-Poplu Zghazagh festival, Maz-Zifna tat-Tfal, by Brooke Borg.
Alistair and Melanie, now qualified professional dance teachers in Ballroom and Latin American Dancing, are running their own dance school, ProTouch Dance School.
They are available for teaching, choreography and demonstrations and can be contacted on 9947-1171.
