England want to employ all their 14 available players during next week's three-day tour match against a Patrons XI in Rawal-pindi.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said England captain Michael Vaughan had asked permission to use more than the normal 11 players in the game, which starts on Monday.

The PCB was unlikely to have any problems with the request, he added.

Although England have a 16-member squad for the three-test series, Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison are not due to join the team until next week.

The Patrons XI boast several test players, including Yasir Hameed, Asim Kamal and Faisal Iqbal.

England have one other three-day game, against Pakistan 'A', starting on November 6 in Lahore, before the first test in Multan from November 12.
