Young woman held up at home

A 20-year-old woman from Attard was yesterday robbed of a small sum of money by two armed men who accosted her in the garage and then forced her inside the home at gunpoint.

The police said the woman had just parked the car in her garage in Tumas Chetcuti Street at about 9 a.m. At that point a vehicle arrived and blocked the garage door.

The police said two hooded men, one of them carrying a firearm, rushed into the garage and demanded money from the woman. When she insisted she was not carrying any money the aggressors entered the house and forced her to follow them.

The police said the aggressors took a small sum of money and made their getaway in a car.

The woman was not injured.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano appointed a team of experts to help in an inquiry.

The police are investigating.
