The Maltese Psychological Association focused on the process of professional registration for those wishing to practise in Malta during its AGM held recently.

The association said that the completion of this process will ensure that the use of the professional title of "psychologist" can be protected to ensure that only competent, fully qualified professionals make use of it.

This, it said, would go a long way towards protecting the public from bad practice.

Members were addressed by Mary Ann Agius, chairman of the Psychologists' Board which was set up under the recently enacted Bill to regulate the profession.

The meeting also served to bring together members with diverse specialisations and working within various settings.
