A record entry of 303 runners recently took part in the fourth series of races organised by the St Vincent de Paul Running Group. The main event of the day was the 5km race. Here, 185 athletes were on the starting line with ages ranging from 14 to 67.

A record entry of 303 runners recently took part in the fourth series of races organised by the St Vincent de Paul Running Group. The main event of the day was the 5km race. Here, 185 athletes were on the starting line with ages ranging from 14 to 67. Gerald Grech (above, back row, second from right) won the race in 15:49, three seconds ahead of Jonathan Balzan. Brian Magri was third (16:00). Grech's record time for the distance is 15:30. Carol Galea was the undisputed winner of the women's race. She completed the 5K route in 17:47. Lisa Marie Bezzina was second (18:04) and Giselle Camilleri third (18:24). The fastest St Vincent de Paul Running Group members on the day were Joseph Ellul and Sadia Mizzi.
