A British delegation from the International Academy of Professional Photography will arrive early in December to present the Ambassadorial award to Albert de Marco and to deliver a series of professional and master class photography seminars.

Mr de Marco, who for 12 years was Enemalta's official photographer, was also the first Maltese photographer to achieve the Fellowship of the Master Photographers' Association. He has exhibited his work several times both in Malta and abroad.

He was one of the 60 artists invited to exhibit at the opening of St James Cavalier five years ago.

The Ambassadorial award recognises Mr de Marco's photogaphic work.

Mr de Marco said that it was high time that a Maltese photographer and Maltese photography received such recognition.

He commended all the hard work being done by the Maltese Institute for Professional Photography and the Malta Photographic Society.

"Malta is a wealthy country when it comes to talented people in various skills and these include photographers.

It is my intention to do the best I can to promote some of these hidden talents," said Mr de Marco.
