I.M. Beck has accused me of not having written my own letter but that it was written by the "bigots" he is so fond of mentioning. Well, I can assure him I write my own letters.

He also has a penchant for quoting what people have posted on the Vivamalta.org internet forum completely out of context to mislead readers as to what is actually being said.

I am not trying to defend the forum by any means. There may, as he says, be a few bigots. However, bigots are to be found everywhere: other forums, political parties and even in the media. There are the good ones and the bad ones, like anything else in this world.

Few people have the luck or ability to hold a good job like I.M. Beck's. Honestly, I wish him all the luck in his profession but from his high vantage point he seems not to understand that many Maltese families hardly manage to stretch their resources out to the end of the month, let alone live a decent life.

Probably that is why they are angry when they see the invaders landing on our shores and within a few weeks getting the best clothes, mobile phones, jobs without a permit and three meals a day.

If Norman Lowell is wrong in saying he wants illegal immigration to be at a zero rate, I.M. Beck is by far the bigger problem since he does not seem to have a limit. He should state how many immigrants he thinks the country can sustain.
