13 Aids cases reported this year

A total of 13 HIV/Aids cases were reported this year up to October 7, information given in Parliament yesterday shows.

Replying to a question on sexually transmitted diseases, Health Minister Louis Deguara said there were several diseases which could be transmitted sexually or through other means.

This year up to October 7, the Health Department was informed of 16 cases of Syphillis, 20 of Gonorrhoea, 43 cases of Chlamydia, nine cases of Hepatitis B and 13 of HIV/Aids.

The minister was replying to a question by Carmelo Abela (MLP).
