Colonisers' sins

The problem of illegal immigrants is causing headaches for everybody, most of all the government.

The problem was caused by the colonisers of Africa. These ransacked the continent of gold, diamonds, oil, slaves, wood etc.

Where any wealth is left, tribal wars have erupted. This creates the need for arms. So the arms producers supply arms.

Which are the nations getting rich from the sale of arms? Most of the old EU member states are the culprits. As members of the EU, we were promised subsidiarity. Does anyone see any glimpse of such a Christian virtue coming our way?

We are paying the penalty, and a cruel and harsh one at that, for the sins of the colonisers. The solution I propose is this: We suggest to the EU Commission that each former coloniser gives refuge to one refugee per every 400,000 of its population so that as we take one on, the others will have to take their share.

These nations will create hell for us such is their firm belief in subsidiarity. No way will they accept it. Bear in mind that we are EU members and we have a veto. Let us use it if we have the guts.

Let them take on as much as we take. Let them repatriate them. They have military planes and armies and what have you, so they can repatriate with ease...

We should give a pre-warning and start acting if they do not oblige. Why not commence with Mr Straw and suggest a trade-off?

Let us start now. Do we have the guts? Do not let this problem divide us. Only unity of purpose will solve it.
