China is showcasing a new generation of shooting talent at the National Games who could collect a clutch of gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Cao Yifei and Yu Xiaokai, both 17, took the titles in the men's Rifle and men's Trap. Cao shot a national record and beat Athens Olympic champion Jia Zhanbo on his way to the gold.

"China won four shooting gold medals in Athens in 2004 and we're not expected to win less than that at the Beijing Olympics," national shooting team coach Wang Yifu said. "To reach that goal, we will need contributions from both our new and old guns."
