Call for green initiatives

Nature Trust has urged the government to set initiatives with effective and realistic targets by which to improve the state of the environment.

In its proposals for the next budget, the NGO called for a strong push to decrease energy consumption by reducing the prices of energy saving equipment and of apparata that use energy more efficiently. It also called for measures to encourage energy saving concepts.

Nature Trust said proactive environmental approaches should be supported by parallel educational programmes which are more vigorous in favour of environmental issues and citizen empowerment.
