Quake relief appeal
The 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Pakistan was also recorded in Malta as this seismograph operated at Wied Dalam by the Physics Department of the University of Malta shows.
Caritas Malta yesterday launched an appeal for money to help people who lost their homes in the earthquake that ravaged parts of Pakistan and India.
Donations can either be left with parish priests, sent by cheque to Caritas - Pakistan/India Fund, 5, Lion Street, Floriana VLT 16 or handed directly to Caritas.
Funds can also be directly deposited in bank accounts - APS Bank account number 2000 0355 03/4, Bank of Valletta account number 4001 4653 694 or HSBC number 0890 2151 3051.
The funds collected will be sent to Caritas Internationalis, which is already working to help affected people.
