Speed limitation signs had been erected along the Mriehel bypass prior to the installation of the speed camera, indicating that the national speed limit applies along this section of the Mriehel Bypass:

The national speed limit for this category of road is 80kph for cars and motorcycles, 60kph for buses, coaches, minibuses and all goods vehicles, and 30kph for industrial, agricultural vehicles, and towing vehicles.

Speed limits are regulated by the Motor Vehicles Regulations (Regulation 127).
