I wonder if you would be so kind in helping me contact a very dear friend who has changed his address. I have tried e-mailing him and telephoning, all to no avail. I know he reads The Sunday Times avidly.

His name is Alfred Vella. Mr Vella and his wife Mary were the proprietors of the Xemxija Bay Hotel until last year. My wife Elizabeth and I have been visiting your beautiful island for the past 20 years, and hope to continue into our old age.
