Admits fraud charge

Olaf Cini was yesterday charged with defrauding a woman of Lm9,000 and misappropriating the money.

Mr Cini, 45 of Paola, pleaded guilty to defrauding Angela Hathaway on and before April this year and relapsing.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti heard how there was a chance that Mr Cini would be able to pay back the money defrauded by next week, by which time he expects a business deal to go through.

The magistrate put off the case for judgement and meanwhile granted the accused bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000.
