Three men were yesterday charged with theft in two separate arraignments.

Charlot Calleja, 23 and Floyd Attard, 21, both of Senglea, pleaded guilty to stealing a woman's bag and damaging her car on Tuesday.

Mr Attard also admitted to stealing a mobile phone and both admitted to breaching conditions of previous court judgements.

The two men were given 10 days within which to pay for damages and the case was put off for judgement.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna granted them bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500 each.

In a separate arraignment 32-year-old Kenneth Vassallo, from Sta Lucia, pleaded not guilty to stealing a woman's purse, damaging her car and relapsing on Tuesday. He was denied bail.

Police Inspector Carmelo Bartolo and Stephen Gatt prosecuted.

Lawyers Martin Fenech, Shazoo Ghaznavi, Joseph Giglio and Mark Busuttil appeared for the accused.
