Drug trial jury to deliberate

Jurors in the trial of a Libyan man charged with drug trafficking are expected to deliberate for a verdict today.

Deliberations start once Mr Justice Joseph Galea Debono, presiding over the case, concludes the summing-up of the trial during which Mahmud Ali Amber is pleading not guilty to importing and trafficking in heroin and cannabis.

Assistant Attorney General Anthony Barbara is prosecuting.

Lawyers Giannella Caruana Curran and Emmanuel Mallia are appearing for Mr Amber.
