A man and a woman were yesterday charged with their involvement in a number of burglaries.

Natale Bonello, 30 of Gzira and Lorita Pace, 21, of Paola were charged separately and pleaded not guilty to stealing cash from a perfumery in San Gwann and relapsing.

Mr Bonello alone was also charged with stealing a mobile phone from a shop and stealing cash from another shop while Ms Pace pleaded not guilty to stealing a mobile phone on another occasion.

The two were remanded in police custody.

Police Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.

Lawyers Franco Debono and Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
