A refugee of Somali origin was yesterday charged with trying to seriously injure another refugee with a broken bottle in Marsa on Saturday.

Mohamed Farah Sulajman, 33, was remanded in police custody when he pleaded not guilty to trying to seriously injure Olad Ali Abdulhafur and slightly injuring him.

Police Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted.

Lawyer Anthony Cutajar appeared for Mr Sulajman.
