Government to insist on Spring hunting

The government will continue to insist on the agreement reached with the European Union allowing Spring hunting for turtle dove and quail, Environment Minister George Pullicino told Adrian Vassallo (MLP) in reply to a parliamentary question.

Dr Vassallo had asked whether Spring hunting was to be disallowed or retained in its present form.

Replying, Mr Pullicino said government policy on hunting was based on what had been negotiated and agreed with the European Union. With regard to Spring hunting, Malta was allowed a derogation for hunting of turtle dove and quail.
