Applications for hotel demolitions

Mepa has, since 2003, received 10 applications for the demolition of hotels and their replacement with new buildings, Environment Minister George Pullicino told Chris Agius (MLP) in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday.

The hotels were the Grand Hotel Verdala in Rabat; the Galaxy Hotel in Sliema; Les Laspins Hotel in Ta' Xbiex; the Forum Hotel in Swieqi; Clover Hotel, St Paul's Bay; the Cartwheel Hotel, St Paul's Bay; Mistra Village, a corner site at Tamar Street in St Paul's Bay; the ex-Andar Hotel at Munxar, and a site at Ghajnsielem.
