Ten-man Hearts lost their first points of the season in the Scottish Premier League with a 2-2 draw at Falkirk yesterday.

Scotland defender Steven Pressley scored both Hearts' goals as they came from two down in the final 18 minutes.

Hearts' lead at the top of the standings was cut to three points. They have 25 points from nine games to 22 for Celtic, who won 5-0 at Livingston on Saturday.

Hearts suffered a double blow after 25 minutes when Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon was sent off for bringing down Falkirk's Darryl Duffy for a penalty.

Substitute keeper Steven Banks replaced Michal Pospisil before Duffy slotted the spot kick into the right hand corner of the net.

Falkirk went 2-0 up with an own goal from Pressley after 68 minutes. He was short with a headed pass back, Duffy charged in to fire from 15 metres, Banks parried and the rebound thudded off the back-tracking Pressley and ran agonisingly into the net.

Pressley made up for the blunder by touching home a Rudi Skacel free-kick at the back post four minutes later and he bundled home a header in stoppage time from close range after keeper Matt Glennon parried Skacel's shot.

Champions Rangers thrashed Dunfermline 5-1 at home on Saturday to remain equal third with Hibernian on 16 points but with a better goal difference.

Falkirk climbed one place to 10th on six points.

Results: Falkirk vs Hearts 2-2; Hibs vs Inverness 1-2.
