Marriages

Mr JULIAN CARUANA and Miss RACHEL BUSUTTIL On Saturday, October 1, the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, was the venue of the sacrament of matrimony between JULIAN, son of Mr and Mrs Francis Caruana of St Julian's, and RACHEL, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Anthony Busuttil of Sliema. Fr Lino P. Ebejer, the bride's uncle, and Fr Gordon Refalo concelebrated nuptial Mass. Mrs Michelle Cachia and Mr Bartholomew Caruana witnessed the marriage. Mr Adrian Balzan carried out the duties of best man. Bernardette and Chantal Busuttil, the bride's sisters, were bridesmaids, while Emma Ellul was flower-girl and Beppe Caruana was pageboy. A reception was held afterwards at Le Meridien Phoenicia, Floriana. The couple are spending their honeymoon in Budapest and Vienna.

Dr PETER NIGEL SWALLOW,MB, BS, MRCS, MFAEM and Dr ALEXIS VICTORIA GRIMA, MB, BS, MRCS The marriage took place on September 10 in London at the Jesuit church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street, Mayfair, between PETER NIGEL, son of Mrs Mary Swallow of Olney, Buckinghamshire, England, and ALEXIS VICTORIA, daughter of Group Captain Franco Grima, MD, RAF (Retd) and Mrs Marie Rose Grima of Naxxar. The Very Reverend Dean Raymond Fenech Gonzi, VF, M.Th.S., of Niagara Falls, Canada, the bride's cousin, officiated. Adele Francesca Cook, the bride's sister, and Dr Alexander Patrick Stoker, MB, BS, MRCS, were the witnesses. Dr Alexander Stoker and Dr Eamon Ranjan Barthakur, MB, BS, were best men. The bride was attended by her niece, Francesca Cook, and by Alice Williams, the groom's niece. Ria Villait was flower-girl. A reception was held afterwards at the Royal Air Force Club, Piccadilly.

Sapphire Wedding

Mr JOSEPH R. SAPIANO and Miss DOROTHY A. BONELLO The marriage between JOE and DOROTHY took place at St Gregory's parish church, Sliema, on Sunday, October 2, 1960. Mgr Arturo Bonnici officiated. Congratulations and much love to Mama and Papa. Martin.

Briffa. On September 30, Beatrice née Caruana, wife of Joseph, aged 72, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Joseph, her children Lorraine and her husband Martin, Jackie, and Monique and her husband Antoine, her grandchildren Kyle, Nicole and Julia, brothers, sisters, in-laws and their families, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
