JOSEPH MUSCAT, 38 of Msida, was yesterday charged with extortion and with insulting and threatening Emanuel Sammut on September 20 at a pastizzeria in Birkirkara.

He was also charged with slightly injuring Mr Sammut, stealing Lm600 from Mr Sammut and others, and relapsing.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm3,000.

Inspector Kevin J. Farrugia prosecuted; Dr Michael Camilleri and Dr Edward Zammit Lewis appeared for the accused.
