Blue sticker holders

I carry a blue sticker because I am a disabled person. I find the sticker useful when I need to go to some busy place like Sliema. I frequently find myself in need of the sticker when I go out with friends for a coffee in Tower Road, Sliema.

To my dismay, however, the only reserved parking place there was in that road is no more.

It was already a hassle looking for a parking space because the reserved area was usually usurped by non-holders of the blue sticker.

I thought being part of the EU and harmonising with its principles of solidarity, such parking slots would become more and not fewer. It would be appreciated if someone explains why such a facility is being denied to me and to people in my condition.
