The article entitled Portugal Wants Embassy in Malta (September 20) contained a small mistake, due probably to a misinterpretation of the words used by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Diogo Freitas do Amaral.

In fact, Portugal decided to open embassies in the new member countries of the EU where there was none and to have resident ambassadors stationed there. During the current year, Portuguese embassies were opened in Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia and Cyprus.
