Helicopter firm mulls airport-cruise terminal link

A helicopter service between the airport and the cruise liner terminal in Valletta could be launched by Helicopteros del Sureste.

The company, which operates the Malta-Gozo helicopter service, is having talks with both the Communication and Competitiveness Ministry and Viset, the operators of the terminal and yesterday operated a test flight between the two points.

Competitiveness Minister Censu Galea said that so long as all safety requirements were met for landing at the terminal, the initiative would be an added bonus for the cruise liner business and for the helicopter operator.
