The Foreign Ministry has made representations with the US Embassy, including the Charge d'Affaires, after a number of Maltese found it difficult to get a visa for travel to the US, Foreign Minister Michael Frendo said in reply to a parliamentary question yesterday. He said the embassy had said it would do whatever it could to facilitate the visa application process.

The question was asked by Labour MP Joseph Cuschieri, who said that Maltese people were being made to pay a considerable fee with their visa applications only for the majority of such applications to be refused.
