Reference is made Alan Deidun's letter (September 16) in which he deemed it fit to drag my company, Island Hotels Group, into the golf course saga.

He states: "A particular question is de rigueur here: Will golfing be open only to those who are members of the Golden Sands Hotel timeshare scheme? I am sure Island Hotels will want to answer this".

Why Mr Deidun asks this question to Island Hotels Group is beyond my comprehension. However, since he found it necessary to ask I will appease his curiosity.

Island Hotels does not know who will be able to make use of the golfing facilities, as Island Hotels Group has absolutely no connection at all with the proposed golf course.

May I take this opportunity to remind readers that when Island Hotels took over the old Golden Sands, Mr Deidun tried, through his articles in The Sunday Times, to tarnish my company's name. I had started legal proceedings against him and was kind enough to stop these proceedings, after Mr Deidun came to my office and pleaded with me not to carry on with the case.

It does seem that I made a mistake in letting him off the hook!
