The Institute of Forensic Studies is offering a short course, Introduction to Criminal Psychology (eight hours - in two four-hour sessions) by a renowned Italian criminologist, Giacomo Calderaro.
Professor Calderaro is a prominent lecturer at Enna University and director of the Laboratorio di Psicologia Giuridica. Professor Calderaro has a first degree in political science and sociology, he furthered his studies in cultural anthropology and criminology. He specialised in psychology of crime, especially in the treatment of alcoholics, juvenile delinquents, perpetrators of domestic violence and recidivists. He has particularly distinguished himself in his involvement in the "Psychology of the Court" and in family-conflict mediations.
The two four-hour sessions will be held at the University, on Monday, October 17, and Tuesday, October 18, from 5 to 9 p.m. (details of the venue will be given to those interested at a later stage). Those who attend both sessions will be given a certificate of attendance. This course is particularly useful for people who deal with forensic populations: correctional officers, psychologists, probation officers, social workers, police officers, educators (in general) and anyone involved in the criminal justice system.
