With the pacE of technology change today, Key Training Services take on the challenge and have geared up to start training in Microsoft's latest products, Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005. Key Training Services managing director Steve Casaletto, a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) for over 12 years, and Mr Alexey Glazirin, a foreign MCT and .NET developer Evangelist who has recently joined the company, have just returned from separate Microsoft Train the Trainer courses in Visual Studio 2005, in the UK and France, respectively.

These courses were aimed at showing how the new language features in the Visual Studio 2005 release of Visual C# and Visual Basic can significantly improve code performance and robustness while at the same time improving programmer productivity.

Topics covered included Visual C#.Net Language Enhancements; Visual Basic.Net Language Enhancements; What's New in System.Data: Common Programing Model, Schema API, and DataSet Enhancements; Sql Client Enhancements and SQL Server 2005 Integration; Visual Studio Team System Architect Designers; The new ASP.Net 2.0; What's New with Visual Studio 2005; Secure Applications using Membership and Role Management with Visual Studio 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0; Dynamic Navigation Systems with Visual Studio 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0; Personalisable Applications with Web Parts using Visual Studio 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0; Comparing the performance of generic and non-generic code using Visual Studio 2005 and investigating the new Visual Basic My capabilities; Application Deployment with the new ClickOnce deployment; Visual Studio 2005 and Future Windows Mobile Platform; Data Access with SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition and the .NET Compact Framework v2.0; and Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System Version 2005.

Mr Casaletto has also attended a five-day Train-the-Trainer event for SQL Server 2005 organised by Microsoft in Dubai.

SQL Server 2005, codenamed Yukon, which is a member of the Windows Server System™, will provide developers with integrated tools for improved database development. Building on the technology provided in SQL Server 2000, SQL Server "Yukon" will offer rich XML support and deeper integration with .NET Framework technologies and Microsoft development tools. SQL Server "Yukon" will significantly increase developer productivity and flexibility while reducing complexity.

Other course areas included Database Development: developing line-of-business database applications using SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005; Business Intelligence Development: how to add analytics to an existing line-of-business application using SQL Server 2005 BI components (Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and Data Transformation Services); and Database Infrastructure: how to design, deploy, manage and tune enterprise database applications in SQL Server 2005.

Key Training Services will shortly provide training in Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 to enable developers to update their skills prior to these products' releases in November.
