Joe Morana (September 21) asserts that the involvement of Malta in the delivery of a Peregrine falcon to the King of Spain ceased with the departure of the Knights.

The truth of the matter is that Malta's involvement with the Peregrine falcon (which used to breed regularly in the Maltese islands up to 1981) ceased when hunters, now released from the subservient shackles, exterminated every single one of them from their own now independent and free Malta.
