With reference to the letter A Well For Every New Development (September 7) the Housing Authority would like to clarify some of the statements made.

In November 2004 the Board of the Housing Authority made a decision to install energy-saving features into all its future building projects. Wells are now being included in all new buildings whenever possible. Future blocks will now be designed to include insulation in roofs and walls, double-glazing, louvers, solar panel heaters and a well.

The Housing Authority is conscious of its role in promoting the environment and by means of the introduction of these new energy-saving measures it is prioritising environmental concerns.
