I have just received the news from my son that he has been unjustly penalised a week's wage following a decision taken by the Maltacom disciplinary board.

He had appeared before the board on two accusations being (a) that he had taken the company vehicle keys home after work and (b) that he had disobeyed verbal instructions by his superior (sic) to return the said keys immediately.

The first accusation was dismissed by the board since it was proven that the keys had never left the premises.

On the second accusation he was penalised one week's wage for disobedience.

My point is, how could he be accused of disobedience when the said keys never left the premises, which is why he has been penalised for the said reason? What sort of "justice" is this?

My son is a hardworking employee who is responsible and he has a family to support!

I direct this question to the Prime Minister: Why is it that human rights are non-existent in Malta? Is this the treatment for us citizens who vote for people like him into government? I believe it is our right to know that justice is for everyone and not for the chosen few because we all know how it works here - that it's who you know and not what you know. As a Maltese citizen and an eligible voter I demand to know what my rights are on this island.
