As part of the activities by the EU Commission to mark European Mobility Week, some of the EU commissioners yesterday cycled their way to their offices in Brussels.

Going on two wheels instead of four was meant to spur debate on the necessity for changes in behaviour on mobility and in particular the less frequent use of the car. The Car Free Day will be the highlight of the week. This year the theme is Clever Commuting and motorists are being encouraged to pool and share a ride to work.

Malta will be marking this event on Thursday.
