I walk along the Bugibba sea front every morning and am disgusted with the filth, rubbish and general untidiness of the area. There is a mound of rubbish, in the form of take-away cartons, plastic bottles and beer cans all along the sea front. The dustbins are all rusty with no lids and in dire need of paint. The roof tops of the boathouses which are at road level have not been cleaned all summer and it will need a rubbish truck to clean it all up.
The areas in front of the kiosks are so filthy that I avoid walking near them especially early in the morning. Surely the owners should be made to wash - no, scrub - the area allocated to them before they close in the evenings.
The whole of the lungo mare is in a pitiful state. I am referring to the area from Fra Ben to the Gillieru Restaurant. Yet the other side, from Fra Ben to the Sunny Coast, is impeccable. Why?
The place needs a clean-up, or is the mayor waiting for the September rains to do it for him?
