The outdoor area of the €12 million Playmobil Funpark was inaugurated yesterday by Children's Commissioner Sonia Camilleri. Close to 100,000 people have already visited the Funpark in its first two years of existence.

Playmobil Malta CEO Helga Ellul said it was sad that today's children were increasingly suffering from a lack of movement and creative development. She added that children should play and be active.

Playmobil group owner Horst Brandstaetter also firmly believes in this and has invested millions of euros in Playmobil funparks in Zirndorf in Germany, Paris, Athens, West Palm Beach in Orlando as well as in Malta.

Malta's Funpark consists of a magical castle situated in front of the manufacturing plant, and has a colourful and clean play area full of Playmobil toys for children to play with and enjoy. The new area also includes a sand pit, a farm and a pizza oven where the children can bake their own pizza creations.
