Ms Maria Pirotta of Gzira (The Sunday Times, September 11) is right. Her registered item left for Belgium a number of days after it should actually have been forwarded to its destination. We have been unable to account for this regrettable delay from our end.

My customer care staff inform me that this was explained to Ms Pirotta in the course of a telephone conversation, and the necessary apologies were made.

I agree with her that whatever service one opts for, no delays should be experienced.

I further understand that when customer care staff asked for details of the registered item to process a formal enquiry regarding delivery, Ms Pirotta apparently chose not to proceed.

However, should she wish to take this matter further, perhaps she can contact me on tel: 2122-5266 or e-mail Maltapost customer care at info@maltapost.com.
