Marathon proceeds donated to home for the handicapped
Archbishop Joseph Mercieca yesterday presented a cheque for just under Lm115,000 to Id-Dar tal-Providenza on behalf of the Church radio station RTK, which collected the money during a marathon broadcast on all the TV stations on New Year's day. The money was presented to the director of the home for the disabled Mgr Lawrence Gatt during a ceremony at the RTK's studios in Blata l-Bajda.
Mgr Mercieca praised this annual initiative and said this was not merely a generous gesture but an expression of love by the Maltese people.
