CPD personnel were called in because of a fire. Once on site, however, they suspected something was not quite right about a building nearby.

It soon became apparent that the place was an illegal fireworks factory. The police and the army were summoned to investigate further.

Mr Cordina said such activity did not only violate the law but also placed the lives of CPD personnel in danger.
