Hot on the heels of The Fun Factory Summer Workshops, actress and tutor Isabel Warrington will be joining the Helen O'Grady Academy, run by actor Alan Montanaro

The academy's development programme uses drama to encourage children to burst out of their shells in a positive and fun-filled environment. The academy says all its teachers are fully trained and accredited in its teaching philosophy.

"Good drama teachers are not a dime a dozen," Mr Montanaro, principal for the Malta branch, explained.

"The academy insists on someone who has the confidence, energy, enthusiasm and talent to carry out the jam-packed curriculum. Isabel has all this and has just completed her accreditation with flying colours."

Helen O'Grady Academy classes are held weekly at different locations around the island and consist of developmental drama covering speech, movement, creative drama, language development and studio productions.

"In this exam culture that we live in, it is important for young people to take time out to develop their inherent creativity, interact with others and discover their own qualities - without feeling that they have to constantly make the grade," Ms Warrington said.

The academy tries to address these issues by providing a healthy and fun environment "allowing children to be children".
