Minister Giovanna Debono recently inaugurated Extracts, Fabio Borg's third solo art exhibition, at the Banca Giuratale in Victoria, in the presence of Finance Parliamentary Secretary Tonio Fenech.
The collection of oil paintings depict contemporary issues, such as the September 11 tragedy, terrorism, violence and destruction, the London terrorist attacks and the effects of the tsunami.
Born in 1974, Borg began to explore the world of art at a very young age. He studied drawing and painting at the School of Art in Valletta, and later took up a course in graphic design.
He is a designer with a leading advertising agency in Malta.
Borg spent some time in Italy where, apart from meeting various Italian artists who helped him develop his ideas and thoughts, he also studied theology, philosophy and psychology. His more recent work reflects theological and philosophical issues and he claims that he is inspired by everything that surrounds him in life. He is also influenced by the Bible, which is always in the background of his work.
Borg is married to Mariella and has a daughter, Federica.
The exhibition is open till September 23 from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to noon on weekends.
